I have been thinking about this topic today. I feel the need to share a story about my daughter. When she was fourteen she had a huge fight with her father. He could make you feel like you were nothing, worse than a piece of dirt on the floor. So, she went in her room and took two bottles of her anti-depressant medication. She didn't say a word about what she had done for the whole day. Then, towards evening she told her grandmother what she had done. She was taken to the emergency room, had her stomach pumped out and had to spend 10 days in a psychiatric hospital. The impact of her choice to attempt suicide had a huge impact on the family. She didn't realize how much she meant to everyone. The pediatrician told her that it was a permanent solution to a temporary problem. She received the psychiatric and counseling help she needed. Then about a year later under the same circumstances she tried again. This time she told someone right away. Again her stomach was pumped and she had to go to the psychiatric hospital to be evaluated. This time she came home but I had to lock up all medicines for a long time before I could trust her. Now a strong young woman. She has a full time job and is engaged to be married. So please, if you are thinking about suicide please seek help. We want to pray with and for you. You are a very special person and YOU ARE SOMEBODY !!!!!!!
