I am soo sory that someone whom you are suppose to look to for guidance is so terribly disappointing you. And I am also sorry for your mom. It must be really hard on her to see him like that and also to see how it hurts you. My parents really didn't have a drinking problem they simply overindulge to compensate for other problems they are having. But I need to address something that you said your dad said. You and your mom CAN make it without him. There are SOOOO many organizations that can help ya'all. Maybe JUST maybe if you and your mom left for awhile or asked him to leave he would see that he COULD lose everything he loves. And yes he does love ya'all I'm sure of it, he just has a very serious problem. And although everyone accepts drinking as okay if you drink in excess it's not okay. If you don't mind my asking how old are you? I only ask to find out how much longer you will have to live with this. I am concerned that this could hurt you. You can try calling al-anon. They have people that can talk to you - confidentially- and offer some assistance as to how you and your mom can make the right choices. I will pray for you, your mom but mostly for your dad that he sees the hurt he is causing his little girl. Please keep me informed how your doing. Please !!!
